NUTRITION EXPECTATIONS

Bottom line... We want our cattle looking good!

MC2's feeding program goal is to maintain a high 5 to low 6 body condition score (BCS) for all animals year-round in order to minimize the need for additional supplements prior to the key breeding cycle events.  At sixty days prior to calving and breeding a BCS evaluation will be conducted for all females with adjustments made accordingly.

The entire feeding plan revolves around the calving (April/May) and weaning (Sept/Oct) schedule.  Once the calves are weaned they will be put on a graduated and supplemented feeding schedule until they reach mature weight.  Our goal is to breed the heifers at or around the age of 14-15 month or at their second cycle.
